Cold brewed coffee is the best!
I am a HUGE coffee fan(atic), but on days like today when temps are in the 80’s and 90’s with 100% humidity, the hot stuff just doesn’t do it for me. Making iced coffee with hot brewed coffee isn’t an option either, because you either have to wait for it to cool down or you have watered down coffee because the ice melts and dilutes it.
What is the alternative you ask? Cold brewed coffee. Not only do you get a smoother, fuller and less bitter flavor, you don’t have to worry about it turning into coffee flavored water because it’s already cold.
To make this awesomely delicious beverage all you have to do is mix coffee in a 1:4 ratio ( 1 c coffee to 4 c water). Grind the coffee coarse and pour it in a glass jar or large bowl with the water. Give it a little stir, cover it and pop it in the fridge for at least 12 hours.
After your 12 hours is up, pour the coffee through a fine mesh sieve (or use my version which is a coffee filter in a wide mouth strainer) to remove the grounds. Then store it in a large glass jar, tightly sealed in the refrigerator until you are ready to use it. Mix it to taste with milk, creamer or water (if you like it black).
***** I suggest using good quality coffee for this. All measurements are to taste and can be adjusted for your personal preferences. ********
