Frugal Living-Cleaning the microwave
If your microwave is anything like mine, it has a tendency to be the last thing on the cleaning list. There are so many other more pressing matters to take care of that it is often overlooked. I used to use scouring pads, harsh chemicals and a lot of elbow grease. It would take forever to get it clean.
A few years ago, I stumbled across a much easier way to get it done. All you have to do is take a wash cloth and soak it with water. Wring it out so that it is damp. Fold it into a rectangle and then microwave it for about 1 minute. The washcloth will be really hot, so I usually take a dry one and fold it on top. Then simply wipe everything off. The steam from microwaving the washcloth loosens up all the stuck on food and it wipes right off. No harsh chemicals, no scouring pads, no elbow grease needed.
