Frugal Living: What I am doing today

by / Friday, 06 June 2014 / Published in Uncategorized

Today’s step in my frugal living journey is to get my garden planted. My garden gives throughout the year, not just in the summer.  I have cucumbers, acorn squash, zucchini, Roma, cherry and Better Boy tomatoes, jalapenos, green and red peppers, green beans and banana peppers. The strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are already int he ground from last year.

When everything comes in later this summer, I will be canning, freezing, dehydrating and pickling like crazy. I will keep everyone updated as it happens, so that I can share with you how I save money with my garden. It’s wonderful to find a deal on produce, but even better to grow it yourself!

I love garden season. It is a lot of work in the beginning. It is all worth it when you pick your first tomato. We are going to make salsa this year.
